Sponsors Rocking our Podcamp Budget…Thanks!
We are really pleased with the many returning sponsors as well as a few new sponsors on board this year. To begin, before we were even ready to go, there was a significant sponsorship commitment from VERB Interactive coming in as the BE GREAT title sponsor. Do you know VERB? The talented folks at VERB are producing innovative and exciting work for clients all over the world in the digital space, but are based right here, in Halifax. They’re excited to be a part of such an important event at home, and we’re excited to have them. A big shout out to Jo-Ann Hicks from VERB who took our basic sponsor package and improved it with better language and new sponsor categories. That is the great thing about Podcamp, new volunteers contribute all kinds of talent to improve the event each year.
New and big contribution sponsors are fantastic to have, but we definitely need to recognize a few returning sponsors and two, in particular, were ready to lend their ongoing support. This includes Bill Wilson of Mindsea, a high quality mobile app development company and Ralf Pickart of Nova Scotia Webcams.
Bill Wilson, Principal of Mindsea Development Inc. is known and loved for providing the best Podcamp give away – a much sought after iPad. We see Bill and the talented team at Mindsea participating in tech events around the city such as HPX digital and more recently they hosted their very own Hackathon. The Mindsea team contributes to our community through the development of several beloved local apps, check out their portfolio here. We recommend downloading Transit 360 for a better experience of our cities bus system, it may even help you get to Podcamp! Look out for Mindsea team members at Podcamp this year!
Ralf Pickart has also been around Podcamp through the ages. Ralf is your source for all things webcam. He’s been in this field and no doubt caught some great, possibly also disturbing views on over 60 webcams in Nova Scotia and Halifax for nearly a decade. Whether you are keen on following Santa’s trail or checking out ski conditions at Martock or Wentworth, Ralf’s webcams are ready and waiting to support your visual journey. Also worth mention are the continued construction and development of what must be the biggest whole in downtown Halifax. And of course, it wouldn’t be appropriate to miss a reason why people choose the east coast by omitting a powerful view of the Bay of Fundy tides at Hall’s Harbour.
Ralf has always been a contributor to Podcamp and we love what he offers to the community with his unique view of NS…considered the “Best See-Food in Canada”.
We have almost filled all of our category sponsorships which is great but it’s NEVER too late to contribute. Imagine if next year they didn’t have to build from the ground up? Heaven forbid!
So, what are you waiting for, maybe it’s your chance to join a wonderful group of sponsors and people who make this whole thing a reality. Check it out: http://podcamphalifax.ca/sponsorship
We also are open to in-kind contributions so feel free to get in touch via sponsorship@podcamphalifax.ca or tracyiboyer@gmail.com – yep, that’s me 🙂
